Beautiful Beaches

What do you like to do when you go on vacation? Believe it or not, even though I live in Clearwater, Florida, just a short drive from one of the most beautiful beaches around, I still love going to the beach on vacation.

When I go, I like to swim, of course, read a good book – nothing that I have to think too much about, and walk around looking in the shops and stopping for a gelato or ice cream somewhere. Or finding a cute little coffee shop in the morning or a little Italian restaurant for dinner.

Shopping

Do you know? I could do ALL of that right here in Clearwater and the surrounding little towns. In fact, I create little mini-vacations for myself. That is just what I did when I asked my neighbor to go shopping with me in some of the local shops recently. I wrote about it in Exploring with a New Friend.

Artists and Artisans

One of the best shops for artistic home furnishing in the Clearwater area is Coastal Market 607. My neighbor and I visited a couple of weeks ago and were astounded at the creative finds! Local artists make or up-cycle nearly everything in the shop. Each artist has a section where he or she displays their work.

The hostess handed each of us a Mimosa (Champaign and Orange Juice) as we entered which we sipped as we browsed. Nice! The beautiful lady in charge of the shop was so helpful. She treated all of her customers as friends and made us feel welcome. She also easily answered every question we had.

My friend and I found items that we really loved and that were within our budget, too. One shopper had just furnished a complete condo out of the shop! I’m certain that it is BEAUTIFUL! Of course, it is all “coastal style” furnishings and considering Clearwater has such beautiful beaches, that just makes sense.

And NO, no one paid for this “advertisement”! This shop wow’ed us, really. If you have a chance to visit it, and you love art and artistic furnishings, you will definitely love it, too.

Stay tuned to this blog if you want to know more about the Clearwater area as one of my favorite things to do is to explore it! And I will keep you in the loop. You can sign up for newsletters by letting me know you want to be added on the Contact Me page.
